The Free Earth Festival stands as a hallmark event in Europe, distinguished as the continent’s sole beach festival of its kind. Our journey, rooted deeply in the vibrant culture of the 1990s, is fueled by a commitment to revive and enrich the original story.
Born from a vision that simmered for years, the festival’s definitive concept took shape in 2013, setting the stage for the launch of a Greek Open Air Festival. This event was envisioned to rekindle the trust and support of both Greek and international audiences, a dream that turned into reality in 2013 after overcoming numerous challenges faced by previous organizers.
Our festival is a symphony of visionaries, artists, musicians, event coordinators, managers, designers, promoters, technicians, craftsmen, and volunteers. Together, we form a cohesive team that introduces a sustainable model in Greece for the first time, blending creativity, joy, and respect. This amalgamation of local and international talents fosters a unique, collective journey toward a Free Earth.
Initially hosted in Ancient Olympia, Peloponnese—the legendary land of Hercules and the cradle of the Olympic Games—our festival’s venue boasted a natural shade and was bathed by the serene waters of the Pinios River. Starting modestly, we focused on cultivating a growth that was organic and aligned with our cultural and community ethics, primarily appealing to the Greek audience. Our humble beginnings in 2013 saw a gathering of 1,000 people, expanding to 1,500 attendees in the following year, with international guests making up a third of the festival-goers.
